Say Good-bye to Depression

Sirinan · May 18, 2016 · 1 Comment

Everyday is a journey. Choose your own destiny.

Depression can happen to anyone regardless of their age, body size, career or financial status. It is a mental health condition and life threatening, which may lead to suicide. Depression may cause by chronic stress, peer pressure, self-image, low self-value, or rejection. There is nothing that will fully cure depression. No money, no expensive materialistic stuffs or even a brand new car can help you to get through this. However, if you choose to change yourself, lifestyle, new perception of yourself, and change from within yourself, these will help you to find the best solution and treatment to fight through depression.

[divider title=”1. Learn to love yourself again” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

There is only one you. You should do whatever you love to do, enjoy the quiet morning, get a sip of your favorite drink, listen to music, dance along with your favourite song, and cook your own dish.

 [divider title=”2. Outdoor activity” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

You should try to go for swimming, making new friends, walk onto the sand, or go out for a walk. Sometimes, it is better to leave your social media and distractions a side for a while. You should go out to get some sun and vitamin D. It will help to improve mood, make you energetic, and feel great. Lack of exposure to sunlight can also cause depression.

[divider title=”3. Feed the right foods to your brain” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

Malnutrition can cause depression. Your brain is more complicated than you think. You should try to change your diet and eat the right foods. Foods such as salmon, almonds, walnuts, and avocado are a great source of omega-3, monounsaturated fats (good fats), and antioxidants, which are needed to support your brain function, stabilize your mood, and overall health. Feeding yourself with the right nutrients will help to improve mood and key to combat depression. The majority of people tend to neglect about what they eat. If you choose to change and try new healthy lifestyles, you will see the results in no time.

 [divider title=”4. Exercise” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

Exercise is key to fight against depression and an excellent anti-depressant. Exercise makes you feel good about yourself, improve your mood, boost up your self confident, and help to keep your mind out of the trouble times. It can be yoga to meditate your mind, aerobic, running, jogging, walking, Tai ji, or swimming. It can be anything that you love to do and enjoy yourself while doing it. Exercise will help to meditate and allow your mind to rest. Start small, but strong!

 [divider title=”5. Fight obesity” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

Many people may not know that obesity can cause serious depression and suicidal. Negative self-image and low self-confident are serious concern. You should start to think positive about yourself. You should begin by going out for a light exercise or a walk in the park. You should try to cook your own delicious meals, change your beef burger to grilled salmon with steamed carrot or broccoli, increase your consumption of dietary fiber, eat more of fresh fruits and veggies. I can guarantee you that it will not only prevent you from depression, but you will feel great and fabulous about yourself. Stop comparing yourself with others because everyone is different, but you can be the best version of yourself. You are beautiful in your own way!

 [divider title=”6. Be positive” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

Be positive about yourself, reward yourself, do something that you love, and stop pleasing other people because you will end up feeling the loneliest. You should not be afraid to let go of those people with negative minds. It is better to walk alone on this path rather than walking with them. You should stay away of these people because you will end up hurting yourself. If you are in a toxic relationship, you should never afraid to walk away because you deserve to live your life happily. Your positive mind will bring you to a brighter place.

[divider title=”7. Talk to your favourite person” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

Sharing or talking about what is in your mind to the person that you trust can be very useful, and keep your mind healthy. It can be your parents, sisters, brothers, boyfriend or husband. You should talk to them about something that upsets you, hurts you, and annoys you or even serious issues that you are facing. They may be able help you to figure out the solutions. So, go talk to them now.

[divider title=”8. Write down or type something that upset you” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

Life is not a bed of roses. There will always be ups and downs. The most important thing is, you must be strong to fight through each obstacle that comes to your way. Some people may be able to hide their issues better than the others. But trust me, no one’s life is perfect. You have to keep fighting and enjoying small things in everyday. Whenever you feel down or sad about something that you do not want anyone to know, write it down on a piece of paper, express your emotions, or you can write to me. If you’d like to. You will feel better after that.

 [divider title=”9. Seek professional help” style=”style6″ align=”left”/]

If you ever feel like you need to talk to someone and ask for help, do not hesitate to seek professional help. She/he is there to help you overcome your problems. It’s their job to help you. She/he will give you some advice that could change your perception and help you to manage a chronic illness.

Don’t let it consume you, live your life how you want it.
