Diabetes is categorized into two groups, which are type I and type II. Type I diabetes is an auto-immune condition whereby your body does not produce insulin. It affects your sugar intake because your body is not able to allow glucose to enter your cells, which results in high sugar level (glucose) in the blood. Type I diabetes can be passed on to the next generation. However, Type II diabetes happens due to bad eating habits for example excessively eating of sugary foods and desserts. This results in metabolic disorder and insulin resistance, whereby your body does not allow glucose to enter the cells to be used as energy. This will leave glucose in your blood and cause high blood sugar level. This can be dangerous if left untreated. Diabetes will slow down the wound healing process due to bacterial infection, and may lead to amputation. There are a few foods that help to control your blood sugar level.
